Life can sometimes feel like a battlefield surrounding you with trouble on many sides. Circumstances rage against you and people try to defeat you. The only thing you have any power over is what you do in response.
Nothing, no matter how difficult, that happens to you defines you. It’s what you chose to do that does.
Regardless of the manner of the attack, whether it’s with weapons or with words, never lose your hope or your faith. When you trust in God, the ultimate victory is assured because the power to overcome is His.

Dear God,
You tell us to be still and let you fight for us, but that is so not our nature. We’re quick to defend ourselves and to counter attack when we feel under attack. As battles rage around us, help them to not rage in us. Help us to trust in you enough to just be still—in our words, in our actions, and in our minds.
